Professor Patroklos Georgiadis is a faculty member of the Laboratory of Business Administration at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). He obtained a Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from A.U.Th (1977) and a Ph.D. in System Dynamics (SD) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering A.U.Th. (1989).

Prof. Georgiadis teaches Production and Operations Management, Production Planning and Control and System Dynamics. He is the leader of the System Dynamics Research Group focusing on the systems thinking and modelling for the environmental and economical sustainability of production systems, dynamic strategic decision making in recycling and remanufacturing networks, product life-cycle management, capacity planning and production planning and control. He has published research articles in a variety of academic journals and books and he has authored a book on System Dynamics with Applications in Designing, Operating and Controlling the Production Systems in Greek (2006). He has served as referee for a variety of international journals, including Production Operations Management, Omega, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Environmental Management and others. He has participated in a large number of funded research projects for the industry, the Hellenic General Secretariat of Research and Technology and various public organizations and municipalities.

He is a member of the following scientific and professional organizations: the System Dynamics Society, the Hellenic Chapter of System Dynamics Society (member of the board for the period 2004-06 and president for the period 2008-11), the Hellenic Operational Research Society (member of the board of the Macedonia – Thrace Branch for the period 1986 – 1994 and 2002 – 2006, the Technical Chamber of Greece (Τ.Ε.Ε.), the Hellenic Association of Mechanical – Electrical Engineers (ΠΣΔΜ-Η), and the Association of Mechanical – Electrical Engineers of Northern Greece (ΣΜΗΒΕ).
